Attending Introduction

From your attending: I attended medical school at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, graduating as a medical surgeon, equivalent to a general practitioner in the 90s. Afterward, worked with native tribes in the Orinoco and Amazon Basins. Later immigrated to the United States, where I spent several years working and saving before pursuing and completing a residency in Emergency Medicine at Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan. I then worked within the Yale healthcare system before eventually settling in Texas.

Our typical workload varies with the season, seeing around 20 to 30 patients every 24 hours. Daily duties include laceration and wound repairs, along with occasional fracture and dislocation diagnosis, reduction, and immobilization. We also handle both medical and surgical resuscitations on a regular basis. Our team typically consists of one nurse, one radiology technician and an ER technician.
