Internal Medicine/Pulmonology Hands-On Outpatient Rotation in Port Saint Lucie, Florida
Attending Introduction
From your attending: I’ve incorporated my love of pulmonary physiology into our practice, with on site cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, two full pulmonary function testing labs, MediPines gas exchange analysis, fractional exhaled nitric oxide analysis, allergy immunotherapy, and clinical research. It’s a busy practice which is an outgrowth of my views of how I want to practice medicine. One patient at a time with the best care possible.
I am there as a resource for students to learn from. I have a library at the office that students can use. We perform pulmonary function testing in the office, including methacholine challenge testing, exhaled nitric oxide testing, exercise spirometry, allergy immunotherapy, on-site thoracentesis, on-site ultrasound examination, osteopathic manipulation, and in depth comprehensive care of patients not often seen in other practices. We will see about 14-18 patients a day. Average 2 thoracentesis a week. This is a full time, hands-on rotation.
Rotation Description
Your rotation in Internal Medicine with FMG Portal will provide you with hands-on experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of adult medical conditions under the supervision of your experienced attending physician.
Additionally, your performance during this rotation will lead to obtaining a US LOR, which is essential for your upcoming residency program applications.
