Attending Introduction
From your attending: I have been in practice for 26 years and completed my training in psychiatry at Medical College of Virginia as well as a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. I have trained international medical students on and off along my career and have assisted them in understanding the American health care system.
I am head of the department for the hospital. Students rotating with me will be seeing inpatient psychiatric consultations on medical floors and patients in the psychiatric unit. Students are expected to present topics relevant to their training in psychiatry and will get feedback on their presentation skills. They will participate in multidisciplinary rounds from time to time where they will interact with social workers, therapists and nurses and participate in aftercare planning for inpatients after discharge from the inpatient unit.
This attending has hosted rotations for FMG Portal students and graduates for over 18 years.
