Attending Introduction
Rotation Description
During your Psychiatry clinical rotation with FMG Portal, you will gain the opportunity to learn about the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health conditions.
Additionally, your performance during this rotation will lead to obtaining a US LOR, which is essential for your upcoming residency program applications.
Patient Assessment:
Treatment Planning:
Psychopharmacology: Gaining knowledge about the use of psychiatric medications, their indications, side effects, and monitoring requirements.
Psychotherapy: Understanding different psychotherapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and supportive therapy.
Professional Development:

Communication Skills: Enhancing skills in communicating with patients and their families, including delivering diagnoses, discussing treatment options, and providing psychoeducation.

Empathy and Rapport: Developing a compassionate approach to patient care, building rapport, and establishing therapeutic alliances with patients.
